Sand Trees in the wake
of a beautiful new ocean I had made
water whispered through the rocks
as the sunset hit the docks
my love never came
and I couldn’t lift myself up out of bed
so the water dried away
and left a desert in its place
stillness of the house where I was born and raised
maybe I could make it if I start all over again
and the water would replenish all the sand
and I’d hold another’s hand
and I’d find myself again
broken skin and mange
that infected every body i had seen
left me lonely and afraid
i’d never touch another thing
